RICHMOND, Indiana – The Earlham College men's tennis team looks for its third consecutive Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) victory when the Quakers travel to Lexington, Kentucky for a 4 p.m. match against Transylvania University on Wednesday.
The Teams: Earlham and Hanover. The Quakers are 10-5 overall and 2-0 in HCAC play after a 6-3 win over Hanover College on Monday. The Pioneers are winless in 11 matches this season.
The Coaches: Shawn Hyden is in his first season as head men's tennis coach at Earlham. The Mount Union College alumnus spent the last two seasons as head men's and women's tennis coach at Arcardia University when he led the Knights to the Mid Atlantic Conference Commonwealth Tournament championship match. Kevin Calhoun is in his first season leading the Pioneers' men's tennis program.
The Players: Junior Vitalii Stadnyk leads the Quakers with 11 wins at first singles while freshman Fernando Bulnes Aramburu has a 10-5 record playing second and third singles. Stadnyk and fellow junior Vojislav Tatarevic are the Quakers' best-performing doubles team with seven wins. Landon Carrico and Brent Barrett have combined for 17 singles victories at the top of the Panthers' lineup.
Dual Match Team Statistics: Earlham is 56-34 (.622) as a team in singles competition compared to 28-17 (.622) in doubles play.
