RICHMOND, Indiana – The Earlham College men's tennis team looks for its third straight win when the Quakers take on Capital University in non-conference action in Bexley, Ohio, on Saturday.
The Teams: Earlham and Capital. The Quakers are 7-5 overall after a 7-2 triumph over National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) foe Taylor University on Wednesday. The Crusaders stand at 2-11 overall and have lost their last four matches.
The Coaches: Shawn Hyden is in his first season as head men's tennis coach at Earlham. The Mount Union College alumnus spent the last two seasons as head men's and women's tennis coach at Arcardia University when he led the Knights to the Mid Atlantic Conference Commonwealth Tournament championship match. Jared Judson is in his first season as interim head men's tennis coach at Capital.
The Players: Junior Vitalii Stadnyk leads the Quakers with nine wins at first singles while freshman Fernando Bulnes Aramburu has an 8-5 record playing second and third singles. Stadnyk and fellow junior Vojislav Tatarevic are the Quakers' best-performing doubles team with six wins. CJ Martin and John Roberts lead the Crusaders with two singles wins.
