RICHMOND, Indiana – The Earlham College men's tennis team continues its spring season with a tri-match at Case Western Reserve University (CWRU) on Saturday. The Quakers will face the host Spartans as well as Allegheny College.
The Teams: Earlham, Case Western Reserve, and Allegheny. The Quakers are 2-1 on the season after falling to Ohio Wesleyan University on Feb. 4. The Spartans, who rank No. 8 in the country, are 4-2 with both losses coming to top 15 teams. The Gators stand 1-6 on the year.
The Coaches: Shawn Hyden is in his first season as head men's tennis coach at Earlham. The Mount Union College alumnus spent the last two seasons as head men's and women's tennis coach at Arcardia University when he led the Knights to the Mid Atlantic Conference Commonwealth Tournament championship match. Todd Wojtkowski has led CWRU for eight seasons while Jared Luteran has been Allegheny's head coach for 14 years.
The Players: Junior Vitalii Stadnyk is a perfect 3-0 at first singles play this year to go along with a 2-3 mark in doubles. Sophomore Adarsh Singh and freshman Fernando Bulnes Aramburu both have three singles victories for the Quakers. Sam Concannon leads the Spartans with 10 singles victories playing primarily fifth singles. Jai Redkar has six singles wins for the Gators.
