Men's Golf in Fourth Place After Day one of Earlham Fall Invitational

RICHMOND, Indiana – The Earlham College men's golf team sits in fourth place after day one of the 2017 Earlham Fall Invitational hosted at Forest Hills Country Club on Saturday.

The Quakers finished the round with 339 strokes, five shots ahead of Alice Lloyd College. Indiana University Kokomo (IU Kokomo) is in first after one round with a team score of 319 while the College of Wooster is two shots off the lead and Marietta College turned in a team score of 327 strokes.

Individually, freshman Garrett Schuler is tied for 10th after a round of 82. Fellow freshman David Fu carded an 18-hole round of 84. Taylor Fletcher of IU Kokomo fired the low round of 73 on Saturday.

Sophomore Patrick Wright, though not in the Quakers' top five lineup for the tournament, finished with a round of 80 while freshmen Matt Bushik and Josh Maclin turned in scorecards with 83 and 84 respectively.

The final round of competition will begin with a shotgun start at 9 a.m. tomorrow (Sunday).
