BLUFFTON, Ohio - The Earlham College men's golf team took third place in the Beaver Fall Classic hosted by Bluffton University this weekend.
The Quakers finished with 631 team strokes after a team round of 315 on Saturday. Ohio Christian University edged Earlham for second place by one stroke while the University of Northwest Ohio won the classic with a team score of 614.
Individually, sophomore Graham Sherard finished in a tie for third place with a round of 75 on Saturday and a two-round score of eight over par. Fellow Jared Birr finished in a tie for fifth place with a two-round score of 155 strokes. Birr, who shot an 81 on Friday, bested that round by seven shots on Saturday. Sophomores Nate Mynatt and Matt Truex both carded rounds of 81 on Saturday for 11th and T-12th place finishes respectively.
Earlham returns to action at the Dick Park Invitational next weekend.
