RICHMOND, Indiana – The Earlham College men's golf team concluded its inaugural Spring Invitational by finishing in a tie for fourth place on Saturday.
The invitational, which was played at Forest Hills Country Club, was won by Thomas More College (Kentucky), who finished with 616 team strokes. Franklin College placed second with 623 shots while Defiance College finished third. Earlham and Indiana University East each placed fourth with overall scores of 656 strokes.
Individually, freshman Graham Sherard finished in a tie for fourth place individually with a two-round score of 155 strokes including a round of 81 on Saturday. Fellow freshman Jared Birr placed in a tie for 18th and joined Sherard with a round of 81 on the final day of competition.
Jimmy Kelly of Thomas More earned medalist honors with rounds of 74 and 72 for a final score of 146 shots.
The Quakers return to action at the Defiance Invitational next weekend.
