RICHMOND, Indiana – The Earlham College men's golf team hosts the 2017 Earlham Spring Invitational at Forest Hills Country Club on Friday and Saturday.
The Tournament: All participants will tee off from the first hole with the first pairing teeing off at 9:30 a.m. on Friday followed by a shotgun start at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday.
The Course: Forest Hills Country Club will serve as the host for the tournament.
The Teams: Earlham will be joined by Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) members Franklin College and Defiance College along with Thomas More College and crosstown foe Indiana University East.
The Coach: Earlham is under the direction of first-year head coach Matt Gehring. A graduate of Defiance College, Gehring spent the previous four seasons as head women's golf coach and assistant men's golf coach at his alma mater.
The Players: Freshman Graham Sherard leads the squad with a round average of 80.33 strokes. Fellow freshmen Jared Birr and Patrick Wright recorded career low rounds of 75 and 79 respectively at the Rose-Hulman Invitational last weekend.
