NORTH BEND, Ohio – The Earlham College men's golf team sits in fifth place after day one of the Mount St. Joseph University Invitational on Saturday.
Earlham finished the first day with a team score of 325, 15 strokes off of first place Hanover College. Transylvania University (313), Otterbein University (322), and Thomas More College (323) are also barely ahead of the Quakers.
Freshman Jared Birr led the Quakers individually with a round of 78. Fellow freshman Graham Sherard fired a round of 81 while Matt Truex and Patrick Wright both posted rounds of 83. Carson Wattenbarger shot the low round of the day (70) for the Pioneers.
Day two of competition begins on Sunday.
