Men's Golf Playing in Defiance Invitational on Sunday

RICHMOND, Ind. – The Earlham College men's golf team continues first season since 1993 this weekend with the Defiance Invitational this Sunday, Sept. 25. The Quakers will play one 18-hole round at Eagle Rock Golf Club.

The Course:  Eagle Rock Golf Club contains rolling hills and elevation changes constantly. Tree-lined fairways, water features, and a winding creek are also present on the course.

The Teams: Earlham, Defiance College, Heidelberg University, Trine University, Cleary University, Rochester College (Mich.), Tiffin University, Anderson University, Madonna University, and Ohio Northern University.

The Coach: Earlham is under the direction of first-year head coach Matt Gehring. A graduate of Defiance, Gehring spent the previous four seasons as head women's golf coach and assistant men's golf coach at his alma mater.

The Players: Freshman Graham Sherard leads the Quakers with a round average of 81.50 through two tournaments this season. Freshman Matt Truex has an 82.75 round average through two tournaments.

Busy Weekend: The Quakers will complete a busy weekend at the Defiance Invitational with three rounds in three days. Earlham will compete in the two-day Saint Francis Invitational on Friday and Saturday.
