RICHMOND, Ind. – The Earlham College Men's basketball team suffered a home defeat to a Rose-Hulman squad by a score of 90-75.
The Earlham team shared scoring duties throughout the game with five players finishing in the double digits on points. Leading the way for the Quakers was Darrell Hutchison Jr., who finished the game with 17 points while boasting a team-high six rebounds. Elijah Wilson-Thomas delivered another solid performance, closing out the afternoon with 12 points, including a smooth fade away jump shot in the 1st half. Both Austin Doliboa and Jamel Barnes contributed heavily to the scoring, the latter knocking down three of team's seven three-point shots.
Rose-Hulman shot consistently for both halves, shooting 54.8% (34-62) from the field for the game. In the end, it was their performance from behind the arc that quelled any possibility of a comeback from Earlham in the second half. Ryuji Aoki led the three-point shooting effort (5-8) and provided a team high 21 points for the Fightin' Engineers.
Rose-Hulman improved to 5-1 in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference while Earlham dropped to 1-5. Earlham will travel to Hanover on Wednesday January 10 at 7:30 pm.
