RICHMOND, Indiana – The Earlham College men's basketball team looks to rebound from a season-opening loss when the Quakers travel to Oberlin College for the Oberlin Tip-Off Tournament this weekend.
The Schedule: Earlham will face Franciscan University (Ohio) at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 18, before battling host Oberlin at 1 p.m. on Sunday.
The Teams: Earlham, Franciscan and Oberlin. The Quakers are looking for their first win of the 2017-18 campaign after a 95-81 loss at the hands of Kenyon College on Wednesday. The Barons are also 0-1 this year after falling to Chatham 74-47. The Yeomen are 0-1 after a narrow 70-64 loss at the hands of the College of Wooster in North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) competition.
The Coaches: Jason Polykoff is in his fourth season leading the Quakers' men's basketball program. Polykoff, who came to Earlham from the University of Pennsylvania, led the program to its best finish in a decade last season. Joe Wallace is in his second season as head coach at Franciscan while Isaiah Cavaco has been Oberlin's head coach for over a decade.
The Players: The Quaker trio of Elijah Wilson-Thomas, Darrell Hutchison Jr. and Kenneth Stalling Jr. all scored in double digits in the loss to Kenyon. Chainey Zolman grabbed a team-high 11 rebounds and Blake Bonin dished out six assists. Joe Shriner was the lone Baron to score in double figures while Joshua Friedkin and Andre Campbell combined for 40 points for Oberlin.

Recent History: Earlham has not played Franciscan since joining the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) prior to the 2010-11 season. The Quakers are 2-3 against Oberlin during that stretch with their last win coming in a 76-55 win on Nov. 18, 2012.
