CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. – Sofia Salvatore's goal with 10:04 remaining in the second half lifted Earlham field hockey to a 2-1 triumph over Wilson College, in Saturday's first round of the Wilson Invitational.

The Quakers advance to Sunday's tournament championship game against Concordia University of Wisconsin, which will start at noon. Concordia advanced after posting a 5-0 rout over Sweet Briar College.

Wilson will battle Sweet Briar in Sunday's consolation game at 10 a.m.

After a scoreless first half, Earlham (2-2) got on the scoreboard at the 28:34 mark of the second half with Isabelle Bishop's goal off a pass from Leah Pinto. That lead lasted just shy of four minutes as Wilson's Michaela Singer responded with an unassisted score to knot the game at 1-1.

Salvatore put the game away off a pass from Molly McKellar, taking McKellar's pass and beating Concordia goalie Brooke McLachlan to the left side.

Each team recorded 16 shots during the contest, while Earlham had a 12-9 advantage in penalty corner opportunities. Quaker goalie Margaret Murphy charted eight saves over 70 minutes in the Earlham cage while McLachlan registered six stops.
