RICHMOND, Ind. – The Earlham College field hockey team plays its final road contest of the 2016 regular season on Wednesday as the Quakers face DePauw University at 7 p.m.
The Teams: Earlham and DePauw. The Quakers are 6-11 and 3-9 in North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) play after a 3-0 loss at Kenyon College on Sunday. The Tigers are 14-3 overall and 11-1 in NCAC competition having won their last eight contests.
The Coaches: Heather Moore enters her fourth year as Earlham's head coach. She led the Quakers to their best finish since 2009 in 2015 as well as a come-from-behind, overtime win over the College of Wooster for the first time since 1993. Erika Dombkowski is in her second year at DePauw. She led the Tigers to a 15-5 record in 2015.
The Players: Senior Megan Hut leads the Quakers offensively with six goals and five assists for 17 total points. Senior Kaitlyn Brunner along with sophomores Maite Turlings and Isabella Grasso have each netted four goals this season. Defensively, sophomore Natalie Blatz has eight defensive saves while freshman goalkeeper Camille van der Vaart averages seven saves per contest. Paige Berliner leads the Tigers and the NCAC in goals with 16 and points with 37.
First Time Around: DePauw claimed a 4-0 victory over Earlham at Darrell Beane Stadium on Oct. 4.
