GAMBIER, Ohio – Kenyon College scored all three goals in a 3-0 victory over the Earlham College field hockey team in North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) competition on Sunday afternoon.
The Ladies, who improve to 10-3 in the conference with the win, opened the scoring seven minutes in when Hannah Paterakis tipped in a Kelsey Trulik shot. Kenyon would only crack the Quakers' defense once in the first half.
Leading 1-0, Kenyon doubled its lead five minutes into the second half on a goal from Katelyn Hutchinson. With Earlham pushing numbers forward, Anna Petek scored the game's final goal in the final seconds.
Kenyon took 28 shots in the game while Earlham fired six. Senior Megan Hut led the way with four shots including two on net while sophomore Maite Turlings took two shots. Shannon Hart finished with seven shots for the Ladies.
Freshman goalkeeper Camille van der Vaart made ten saves in the loss.
The win for Kenyon over Earlham avenges a 2-1 loss to the Quakers earlier this season.
The Quakers will travel to DePauw University on Wednesday for a game slated to begin at 7 p.m.
