Field Hockey Facing Wooster and Oberlin on the Road This Weekend

RICHMOND, Ind. – The Earlham College field hockey team travels for its first North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) weekend as the Quakers will face the College of Wooster on Friday at 5 p.m. followed by Oberlin College at 11 a.m. on Saturday.

The Teams: Earlham, Wooster, and Oberlin. The Quakers are 3-2 on the season after splitting a pair of games at the University of the South (Sewanee) last weekend. Earlham dropped in NCAC open to Ohio Wesleyan University on Wednesday. The Fighting Scots are 2-3 this season and have won their last two contests over Concordia Wisconsin and Transylvania. The Yeo are 0-4 in 2016 and 0-2 in NCAC play.

The Coaches: Heather Moore enters her fourth year as Earlham's head coach. She led the Quakers to their best finish since 2009 in 2015 as well as a come-from-behind, overtime win over the College of Wooster for the first time since 1993. Brenda Meese is in her 26th season leading the Wooster field hockey program while Tiffany Saunders enters her second season leading Oberlin.

The Players: Senior Megan Hut (4) and sophomore Maite Turlings (3) have combined to score seven of Earlham's ten goals this season. Freshman Syndey Barnes has dished out two assists while sophomore Natalie Blatz leads the Quakers with three defensive saves. Lauren Abbott and Leah Prescott have each scored three goals for Wooster while Oberlin has yet to score a goal through four games.

Recent History: Earlham and Wooster split the 2015 series with each team winning at home. The Quakers came from behind to win 3-2 in double overtime on Sept. 20, 2015 while the Fighting Scots claimed a 2-0 win on Oct. 16, 2015. Earlham swept the season series with Oberlin.
