Quakers Face Wilson in Home Opener

RICHMOND, Ind. — The Earlham College field hockey team opened the home portion of its schedule on Saturday with a 3-2 loss to Wilson College.

The Quakers held a 2-0 advantage after the first half in Darrell Beane Stadium, but Wilson (2-0) bounced back with the decisive three goals in the second period.

Grace Makhoul scored Earlham first goal at 20:16 with an assist from Megan Hut.

Moments later, Hut followed with an unassisted score at 21:47.

Earlham goalkeeper Brynna Foreman had a save for the Quakers.

The Quakers held a 10-9 edge in shots, while the Phoenix had a 10-8 advantage in penalty corners.

Earlham (0-3) visits Denison University next Saturday. The North Coast Athletic Conference opener for the Quakers is at 11 a.m.
