Sol Southall enters his third season as offensive coordinator on the Earlham College football staff in 2018.

In his second season guiding the Quaker offense, Southall coached QB Wes Hundley, WR Marcaus Cooper, OL Jacob Breen, and OL Roderick Matthews to spots on the All-HCAC Second Team. Hundley rushed for a school record 991 yards and passed for 1,489 yards - the most passing yards by an Earlham quarterback since 2014 (Brennan Laird).

Southall mentored Matthews, Hundley, and Cooper to Second Team All-HCAC honors in 2016. Hundley and Cooper combined for 79 receptions and seven touchdowns. Hundley also led the squad in rushing with 444 yards.

Southall has experience at the collegiate level having served as a co-offensive coordinator, quarterbacks coach, and special teams coordinator at Sul Ross State University in Alpine, Texas, in 2013.

Before Sul Ross State, Southall served as a wide receivers coach at Hardin-Simmons University in 2010. The Cowboys finished the season 8-2 and led all of NCAA Division III in reception yardage.

Southall, a third-generation coach, graduated from Angelo State University in 2008 with a degree in business. He was a three-year starter for the Rams.

He resides in Richmond.
