RICHMOND, Indiana - The Earlham College football team had one of its oldest records broken in a game against Anderson University on October 17, 2016.
Freshman Jordan Christian stepped back to punt in the middle of the second quarter on a rainy day at Darrell Beane Stadium. The Richmond High School alumnus launched an 83-yard punt, breaking the old program record of 79 yards by Sam Hogenaur during the 1967 season. The record was Earlham football's longest-standing individual game record.
Christian was named Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) Special Teams Player of the Week for his record-breaking performance.
