RICHMOND, Ind. – The Earlham College baseball team was picked to finish fourth in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference in 2019, according to preseason voting among the conference's head coaches released on Wednesday.
The Quakers received 62 points in the voting.
Franklin College finished atop the poll with 96 points including seven first-place votes. Anderson received 83 points and two first-place votes, while Rose-Hulman was third with 82 points and one first-place vote.
Manchester rounded out the top five with 53 points, ahead of sixth-place Transylvania with 52 points.
Earlham posted a 23-14 overall record in 2018, marking the program's fifth-straight season with 20-or-more wins. The Quakers were 7-10 in the HCAC last season and finished sixth in the conference standings.
The Quakers open the 2019 season on Saturday, Feb. 23, when they host Wittenberg University in a doubleheader at Sadler Stadium.
