Late Goal the Difference as Thomas More Defeats EC

RICHMOND, Ind. A late goal hurt the Earlham College men’s soccer team on Wednesday as the Quakers fell 1-0 to Thomas More College on Matlack Field.

The Saints (1-0) scored at 74:20 to take the lead for good.

Thomas More led 12-6 in shots, while holding a 6-4 edge in corner kicks. Chris Marshall had four saves for the Quakers.

Earlham (0-1) is back in action on Saturday at Case Western Reserve University. The non-conference match gets underway at 2 p.m.

Emily Sells scored 11 points against Transylvania University in an 84-80 loss on Feb. 1.

She posted team-high numbers with seven rebounds, six assists and three steals in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference contest on Schuckman Court in the Athletics and Wellness Center.

Ryan Taylor led Earlham with 19 points against nationally-ranked Transylvania University as the Quakers fell 89-76 to the Pioneers, who are ranked 18th in the latest d3hoops.com poll .
