RICHMOND, Ind. — The Earlham College men’s cross country team was selected to finish sixth in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference preseason coach’s poll announced on Monday.

Defending HCAC champion Manchester College was at the top of the list, while Anderson University was picked to take second.

The Quakers had three competitors on the HCAC Runners to Watch list. Junior Jacob Naegeli and first-years Simon Conrad and Charlie Boyd were honored.

Naegeli was named Earlham’s Most Outstanding Runner last fall after topping the Quakers in every race but one with his best finish coming in the Earlham Invitational. He was sixth as the team took second in the event.

Earlham begins the season at the Franklin Invitational on Saturday, Sept. 4. The HCAC Championship is set for Transylvania University on Saturday, Oct. 30.
