Hemmings Wins NCAC Title at Indoor Track Championships

GRANVILLE, OhioThe Earlham College women’s track team had one winner on Friday as the Quakers competed in the North Coast Athletic Conference Indoor Championships at Denison University.

Ramona Hemmings had a distance of 34’2¼” on her final attempt to claim the championship in the triple jump as she improved on her performance from last year when she finished third.

Meredith Naughton also bettered her sixth-place effort from 2009 as she cleared 8’11¾” in the pole vault to finish in fifth.

The meet resumes on Saturday with the field events beginning at 10:30 a.m. The running portion of the championships starts at 2:15 p.m.

Ryan Taylor led Earlham with 19 points against nationally-ranked Transylvania University as the Quakers fell 89-76 to the Pioneers, who are ranked 18th in the latest d3hoops.com poll .

The Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference game was in Lexington on Feb.1.

Women's Basketball
Emily Sells scored 11 points against Transylvania University in an 84-80 loss on Feb. 1.

She posted team-high numbers with seven rebounds, six assists and three steals in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference contest on Schuckman Court in the Athletics and Wellness Center.
