Ladies Defeat Earlham 66-60 After Leading by 29 Points
RICHMOND, Ind.The Earlham College women’s basketball team staged a furious rally on Tuesday night, but the Quakers came up short as Kenyon College won the North Coast Athletic Conference contest 66-60.

Trailing 58-38 with 5:28 remaining, the Quakers finished the game with a 22-8 run utilizing defensive pressure to fuel the comeback.

All of Kenyon’s points during the stretch came as the Ladies made 8-of-10 free throws, while missing two shots from the floor with six turnovers.

Falling behind early

Kenyon (9-3, 2-1) grabbed an early 18-3 advantage and worked its way to a 36-16 lead at intermission.

In the second half, the Ladies started the period with a 13-4 run to go on top 49-20 with 13:06 left in the contest. From that point, the Quakers were able to close the gap to 20 points to set up their comeback attempt.

Two in double figures

Nikki Darrett and Starr Gary led Earlham with 18 points each. Darrett finished with 10 rebounds and Gary pulled down seven. Gary also had four steals and Darrett contributed three steals.

Princess Darnell and Kate Franks tossed in six points apiece.

Earlham (1-10, 0-3) plays on Schuckman Court in the Athletics and Wellness Center this Friday against Allegheny College. The NCAC affair begins at 6 p.m.
