GRANVILLE, Ohio — Chad Wertman and Chris Shaw led the
Earlham College men’s track team on Saturday as the Quakers began the indoor season in the North Coast Athletic Conference Relays at
Denison University.
Wertman and Shaw combined to win the shot put relay. Wertman had the best throw of meet with a distance of 48’6¾” and Shaw’s toss of 46’1¼” was the fourth best.
In individual events, placement in this meet is determined by the combined scores of two teammates.
Jared Patton cleared 5’10 ¾” in the high jump for the second best effort in the meet.
The Quakers also had four relay teams score:
• 800-Meter Relay (Ben Randall, L.V. Plummer, Lenden Bowsman, Bo Braun), 6th in 1:36.51.
• 1,600-Meter Relay (Bowsman, Cyrus Dudgeon, Plummer, Braun), 6th in 3:40.09.
• Distance Medley Relay (Sean McGuire, Jon Dyson, Dudgeon, Jacob Naegeli), 6 th in 11:08.73.
• Sprint Medley Relay (John Edouassaint, Patton, McGuire, Robert Lugg), 8 th in 4:06.26.
Ohio Wesleyan University won the meet the Quakers tied for seventh place with
Allegheny College.
The Quakers are at the Anderson University Invitational next Saturday. The meet begins at 3 p.m.
