Asingura Scores Three Times as Quakers Beat Manchester

Bannet Asingura had three goals in Earlham's 4-1 win over Manchester.
NO. MANCHESTER, Ind.Bannet Asingura scored three goals on Wednesday to lead the Earlham College men’s soccer team to a 4-1 victory over Manchester College.

Asingura picked up his first goal in the third minute with assists credited to Jeremy Pillow and Jimmy Carter.

Nick Costello made it 2-0 in the 28th minute with an unassisted score. Asingura scored an unassisted goal at the 43rd minute to give the Quakers a 3-0 at intermission.

In the second half, Asingura found the net for the third time in the 52nd minute for his eighth goal of the season. Manchester (2-8) scored its goal late in the contest.

Earlham led 14-5 advantage in shots, while both squads had three corner kicks. Earlham goalkeeper Jonah Kreniske had three saves.

The Quakers (5-3-2) entertain Oberlin College on Saturday. The North Coast Athletic Conference match for the Freedom Trophy on Matlack Field begins at 2 p.m.

Emily Sells scored 11 points against Transylvania University in an 84-80 loss on Feb. 1.

She posted team-high numbers with seven rebounds, six assists and three steals in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference contest on Schuckman Court in the Athletics and Wellness Center.
