Quakers End Weekend with Win Over Ohio Wesleyan

MEADVILLE, Pa. The Earlham College volleyball team finished its weekend by splitting two North Coast Athletic Conference matches on Sunday at Allegheny College.

The Quakers dropped their morning match to Denison University 25-10, 25-17, 25-16 before beating Ohio Wesleyan University 25-22, 25-21, 18-25, 25-21 later in the afternoon.

Elizabeth Ross led the Quakers with eight kills against Ohio Wesleyan, while Ramona Hemmings finished with seven. Andrea Thompson and Keeley McAnnis-Entenman contributed six kills apiece.

Alicia Kees topped the squad with 15 assists, while Ashlee Heberger added 10. Ross, Thompson and Aleta Cox each had two service aces. Nikki Darrett led Earlham with 14 digs and Thompson added 11. Cox had 10.

McAnnis-Entenman led the Quakers with seven blocks and Hemmings ended with five.

In the Denison match, Ross, Hemmings and Thompson led the Quakers with five kills each. Kees led the way with 10 assists, while Heberger had eight. Darrett had eight digs and Cox finished with seven digs. Ross also contributed three blocks.

Earlham (3-14, 1-3) entertains Kenyon College on Friday. The NCAC contest on Schuckman Court in the Athletics and Wellness Center gets underway at 7 p.m.

Women's Basketball
Emily Sells scored 11 points against Transylvania University in an 84-80 loss on Feb. 1.

She posted team-high numbers with seven rebounds, six assists and three steals in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference contest on Schuckman Court in the Athletics and Wellness Center.

Ryan Taylor led Earlham with 19 points against nationally-ranked Transylvania University as the Quakers fell 89-76 to the Pioneers, who are ranked 18th in the latest d3hoops.com poll .
