Levin Wins Twice as the 2009 Wilson/ITA Central Regional Begins

ST. LOUIS, Mo. — Earlham College men’s tennis player
Henry Levin picked up a pair of wins on Friday during the singles competition in
the Wilson/ITA Central Regional at Washington University.
Levin beat Jake Mathews of Kenyon College in his first contest 6-4, 3-6, 6-3 to advance to the next round. Levin then defeated Cooper Payne of Westminster College 6-0, 6-1.
In the third round, Levin is scheduled to face Danny Levy of Washington University on Saturday at noon.
Also in the bracket of 128 players was Mike Von Vogt, who dropped both of his singles matches. He lost to Kenyon’s Charlie Brody 6-1, 6-0. Stephane Antwi of Wittenberg University defeated Von Vogt 1-6, 6-2, 1-0 (10-5).
Rain interrupted the event, so Von Vogt and Nabil Parkar were waiting to play in the doubles bracket as of 7:30 p.m.
