Levin Wins Twice as the 2009 Wilson/ITA Central Regional Begins
Nabil Parkar and Mike Von Vogt are playing doubles together in the Wilson/ITA Central Regional at Washington University on Friday.
Von Vogt Falls in Singles
ST. LOUIS, Mo. Earlham College men’s tennis player Henry Levin picked up a pair of wins on Friday during the singles competition in the Wilson/ITA Central Regional at Washington University.

Levin beat Jake Mathews of Kenyon College in his first contest 6-4, 3-6, 6-3 to advance to the next round. Levin then defeated Cooper Payne of Westminster College 6-0, 6-1.


In the third round, Levin is scheduled to face Danny Levy of Washington University on Saturday at noon.

Also in the bracket of 128 players was Mike Von Vogt, who dropped both of his singles matches. He lost to Kenyon’s Charlie Brody 6-1, 6-0.
Stephane Antwi of Wittenberg University defeated Von Vogt 1-6, 6-2, 1-0 (10-5).

Rain interrupted the event, so Von Vogt and Nabil Parkar were waiting to play in the doubles bracket as of 7:30 p.m.

Women's Basketball
Emily Sells scored 11 points against Transylvania University in an 84-80 loss on Feb. 1.

She posted team-high numbers with seven rebounds, six assists and three steals in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference contest on Schuckman Court in the Athletics and Wellness Center.

Ryan Taylor led Earlham with 19 points against nationally-ranked Transylvania University as the Quakers fell 89-76 to the Pioneers, who are ranked 18th in the latest d3hoops.com poll .

The Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference game was in Lexington on Feb.1.
