Quakers Post Victory in Garnet Classic

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. The Earlham College volleyball team split a pair of matches on Saturday in the Garnet Classic at Swarthmore College.

Cabrini College (PA) defeated Earlham 25-15, 25-15, 25-18 before the Quakers rallied to beat Wheaton College (MA) 12-25, 25-22, 25-18, 22-25, 15-11.

Against Cabrini, Keeley McAnnis-Entenman and Ramona Hemmings led the way with five kills each. Alicia Kees had 16 assists, while Nikki Darrett topped the squad with nine digs.

Hemmings led the Quakers with 12 kills and 16 digs against Wheaton, while McAnnis-Entenman added 10 kills and finished with a team-high six blocks.

Ashlee Heberger had 32 assists and six service aces for the Quakers, while Andrea Thompson contributed 15 digs.

Earlham (1-6) faces Swarthmore in the semifinal round on Sunday. The match begins at 9 a.m.

Matt Marsh
Men's Basketball
Matt Marsh was named an Earlham College Athlete of the Week on Monday, Feb. 8.

Marsh posted career-high totals of 19 points and four steals, while grabbing four rebounds in Earlham’s 74-61 loss to Denison University on Feb. 7.

 

Jessica Wooden
Women's Basketball
Jessica Wooden was named an Earlham College Athlete of the Week on Monday, Feb. 8.

Wooden led the Quakers with 12 points, while grabbing nine rebounds in a 65-58 overtime loss at Hiram College on Feb. 6.
