Adam Painter
Baseball
Earlham College baseball player Adam Painter was honored by the North Coast Athletic Conference as the Pitcher of the Week on Monday, March 15.

Painter (1-1) went the distance on the mound for the Quakers last Saturday to earn the victory in the first game of a doubleheader against Delaware Valley College.

The junior gave up one run on seven hits with seven strikeouts and no walks as Earlham posted a 4-1 win.
Chad Wertman
Men's Track and Field
Chad Wertman came up a few inches short in the shot put on Saturday as the Earlham College junior participated in the Division III National Collegiate Athletic Association Men’s Indoor Track Championships at DePauw University.

There were two flights during the event with Wertman’s best toss of 52’2½” being fifth in the opening group. The mark ended up as the 10th best performance overall, but was one position shy of the ninth qualifying spot in the finals.

Adrian Kibiersza of Aurora University, who didn’t record a distance in three attempts during the finals, had a throw of 52’4¾” during the preliminary round to advance as he claimed the ninth spot just ahead of Wertman. John Schantzen of St. Olaf College had a throw of 57’0” to win the event.
