LaFollette Named MVP as Football Team Awards Announced

Adam LaFollette was named the MVP for the Earlham College football team on Sunday, Dec. 6.
RICHMOND, Ind. Senior linebacker Adam LaFollette was named the Most Valuable Player for the Earlham College football team as coach Gerry Keesling handed out the team awards on Sunday.

LaFollette, who led Earlham’s defense in tackles (96) and quarterback sacks (9.5), was also the winner of the Captain’s Cup.

Senior Chris Shaw received two team honors. He was the winner of the Shane Smith Award and the Offensive Lineman of the Year.

The other players honored during the team banquet were senior Max Crumley-Effinger (Special Teams), senior Jake Carr (Defensive Perimeter), senior Chris Owens (Offensive Perimeter), senior Alex Painter (Defensive Line), first-year Kevin Powers (Co-Newcomer), Nick Westfall (Co-Newcomer) and sophomore Josh Lewis (Most Improved).

The Quakers finished the season at 5-5 overall and 3-4 in the North Coast Athletic Conference. It was the highest win total since 2000 when Earlham was 6-4.

Emily Sells
Women's Basketball
Emily Sells scored 11 points against Transylvania University in an 84-80 loss on Feb. 1.

She posted team-high numbers with seven rebounds, six assists and three steals in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference contest on Schuckman Court in the Athletics and Wellness Center.

Men's Basketball
Ryan Taylor led Earlham with 19 points against nationally-ranked Transylvania University as the Quakers fell 89-76 to the Pioneers, who are ranked 18th in the latest d3hoops.com poll .

The Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference game was in Lexington on Feb.1.
