RICHMOND, Ind. — Senior
Callie Thompson was named the Player's Player of the Year for the
Earlham College women’s soccer squad on Wednesday as coach Jocelyn Keller announced the team awards for 2009.
Junior
Karman Duchon was the Most Valuable Offensive Player, while junior goalkeeper
Megan Holthaus was the Most Valuable Defensive Player.
Sophomore
Evelyn Tandy was selected as the Most Improved Player.
Kelly Sprague recevied the Coach's Award. Holthaus, Sprague and junior
Allie Zeller were chosen to be team captains for 2010.
Thompson had five goals and two assists this season. She also scored three game-winning goals.
Duchon finished the season as Earlham’s second-leading scorer with five goals and six assists.
Holthaus, who was an All-North Coast Athletic Conference Honorable Mention selection, averaged giving up 0.98 goals per match and posted five shutouts.
Tandy finished with two goals, while playing in all 20 contests.
Earlham ended its season at 12-7-1 overall and was the No. 4 seed in the North Coast Athletic Conference tourney with a 4-3-1 record. It was the first time the Quakers had ever made the conference tournament and they lost 2-1 to
Wittenberg in the championship match.
