RICHMOND, Ind. Three Earlham College field hockey players were honored by the North Coast Athletic Conference on Wednesday.

Cassie Gage, Nicole VanScyoc and Zipporah Burns earned spots on the All-NCAC squad.

Gage was a first team selection after she finished the fall with 16 goals to end her career as Earlham’s all-time scorer with 92 points. During her four years with the Quakers, she had 39 goals and 14 assists.

For Gage, this was the fourth time she was honored by the conference. She was first team in 2007 and second team in 2008, while receiving honorable mention in 2006.

Van Scyoc and Burns were All-NCAC Second Team.

Van Scyoc had three goals and three assists this season to earn her second honor from the NCAC. She was a first team choice in 2008. The midfielder finished her career with nine goals and eight assists.

It was also the second time for Burns, who received honorable mention last season as a back.

Ryan Taylor led Earlham with 19 points against nationally-ranked Transylvania University as the Quakers fell 89-76 to the Pioneers, who are ranked 18th in the latest d3hoops.com poll .

The Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference game was in Lexington on Feb.1.
Emily Sells
Women's Basketball
Emily Sells scored 11 points against Transylvania University in an 84-80 loss on Feb. 1.

She posted team-high numbers with seven rebounds, six assists and three steals in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference contest on Schuckman Court in the Athletics and Wellness Center.
