RICHMOND, Ind. — The
Earlham College women’s soccer team had four players honored by the North Coast Athletic Conference on Monday with one receiving a major award.
Joy Doucette was named NCAC Newcomer of the Year after leading the Quakers in scoring with 19 points. She finished with seven goals and four assists.
Doucette, who was also named to the All-NCAC Second Team, scored the game-winning goal in a 1-0 victory over
Denison University in the semifinals of the conference tournament.
Franny Newport earned a spot on the All-NCAC First Team as a defender. It was the third time she received a post-season honor from the conference. She was All-NCAC Second Team in 2008 after being honorable mention in 2007.
Goalkeeper
Megan Holthaus was honorable mention for the second straight season.
Allie Zeller was honorable mention as a defender.
Earlham ended its season at 12-7-1 overall and grabbed the No. 4 seed in the conference tourney with a 4-3-1 record. The Quakers had a runner-up finish in the NCAC Tournament.
