Wertman Named Defensive Player of the Week by NCAC

RICHMOND, Ind. Earlham College nose guard Chad Wertman was honored by the North Coast Athletic Conference on Sunday as the Defensive Player of the Week for football.

Wertman had 11 tackles for the Quakers in a 21-9 win over Kenyon College last Saturday. Five of the stops were solo and four were behind the line of scrimmage, which included a quarterback sack.

Earlham (4-4, 2-3) is at Ohio Wesleyan University on Saturday. The NCAC game is at 1 p.m.

Ramona Hemmings
Women's Track and Field
Ramona Hemmings was named an Earlham College Athlete of the Week on March 8.

Hemmings had a distance of 34’2¼” on her final attempt to claim the title in the triple jump at the North Coast Athletic Conference Indoor Championships at Denison University on March 6.

Chad Wertman was named an Earlham College Athlete of the Week on March 8.

Wertman had a school record throw of 53’9¼” on his final opportunity as he won the shot put title at the North Coast Athletic Conference Indoor Championships at Denison University on March 5.

This year's Earlham Athletics Hall of Fame class featured seven inductees.

Tom Rogers ’69, Jerry Banks ’72, Thomas Page ’85, Greg Williams ’89, Stan Hill ’93 and Wendi Weimer Fowler ’94 were honored during Homecoming Weekend on Friday, Oct. 23.
