Tie Keeps Quakers Alive for Post-Season Play

GAMBIER, Ohio — The Earlham College women’s soccer team is still in the hunt for a spot in the North Coast Athletic Conference Tournament after a 1-1 double overtime tie with Kenyon College on Wednesday.

The Quakers (10-6-1, 3-3-1) are at Ohio Wesleyan University on Saturday for a conference match at 7 p.m. The Quakers need a victory to make the four-team NCAC Tournament field.

The Ladies (6-10-1, 3-3-1) scored in the first half on Wednesday to lead 1-0 at intermission.

Joy Doucette responded for the Quakers with an unassisted goal in the second period at 55:12 to tie the match.

Earlham led 17-14 in shots and a 5-4 in corner kicks. Goalkeeper Megan Holthaus had three saves for the Quakers.

The Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference game was in Lexington on Feb.1.

Women's Basketball
Emily Sells scored 11 points against Transylvania University in an 84-80 loss on Feb. 1.

She posted team-high numbers with seven rebounds, six assists and three steals in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference contest on Schuckman Court in the Athletics and Wellness Center.
