Quakers Fall at Ohio Wesleyan

DELAWARE, Ohio — The Earlham College field hockey team battled Ohio Wesleyan University on Tuesday as the Quakers fell to the Bishops 5-0.

Ohio Wesleyan (9-8, 7-5) scored three times in the first half to take control of the North Coast Athletic Conference match by intermission. The Bishops added two more scores in the second period.

The Bishops led 33-10 in shots and 24-4 in penalty corners. Earlham goalkeeper Emma Treece had 14 saves for the Quakers.

The Quakers (4-10, 1-10) play their final NCAC match of the season on Saturday at Denison University. The contest gets underway at noon.

Ryan Taylor led Earlham with 19 points against nationally-ranked Transylvania University as the Quakers fell 89-76 to the Pioneers, who are ranked 18th in the latest d3hoops.com poll .

The Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference game was in Lexington on Feb.1.

Women's Basketball
Emily Sells scored 11 points against Transylvania University in an 84-80 loss on Feb. 1.

She posted team-high numbers with seven rebounds, six assists and three steals in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference contest on Schuckman Court in the Athletics and Wellness Center.
