Quakers Split NCAC Matches

RICHMOND, Ind. — The Earlham College volleyball team split a pair of matches on Saturday as the Quakers entertained the other eight schools from the North Coast Athletic Conference.

Hiram College defeated Earlham 25-22, 27-25, 25-19 in a morning contest before the Quakers rebounded in the afternoon with a 22-25, 25-23, 27-25, 25-22 victory over Kenyon College.

Ramona Hemmings led the Quakers with 10 kills against Kenyon, while Nikki Darrett and Keeley McAnnis-Entenman finished with six each.

Ashlee Heberger had 14 assists with Alicia Kees contributing 10 assists. Elizabeth Ross topped the squad with five blocks.

The Quakers had four players reach double figures in digs. McAnnis-Entenman led the way with 15, while Aleta Cox and Ross had 12. Andrea Thompson added 10 digs.

Against Hiram, Ross led the Quakers with seven kills and 14 digs. Darrett and Thompson had five kills apiece. Heberger had 14 assists with Kees adding 10. Ross and Hemmings had four blocks each.

The NCAC Weekend continues on Sunday with the Quakers (4-20, 2-8) playing Allegheny College at 10 a.m. Earlham’s final contest of the day is against Oberlin College at noon.

Emily Sells
Women's Basketball
Emily Sells scored 11 points against Transylvania University in an 84-80 loss on Feb. 1.

She posted team-high numbers with seven rebounds, six assists and three steals in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference contest on Schuckman Court in the Athletics and Wellness Center.

Ryan Taylor led Earlham with 19 points against nationally-ranked Transylvania University as the Quakers fell 89-76 to the Pioneers, who are ranked 18th in the latest d3hoops.com poll .
