OBERLIN, Ohio — The Earlham College field hockey team gave up five goals in the second half on Saturday as the Quakers fell 6-2 to Oberlin College.
The Quakers had a 2-1 advantage early in the second half when Oberlin rallied with its offensive outburst to take control of the North Coast Athletic Conference match.
Mamus Ngeseyan scored her first goal of the season for the Quakers at 14:33. Oberlin got its initial score at 24:31 to tie the contest by intermission.
Nicole VanScyoc gave the Quakers a 2-1 lead at 39:48 with her second score of the fall.
Chrissy Sollenberger had an assist on the play.
The shots were even at 15-15 with Earlham leading 17-8 in penalty corners. Goalkeeper
Emma Treece had four saves in the first half for the Quakers.
Kate Waters had one save for Earlham in the second period.
Earlham (4-6, 1-6) is at Transylvania University on Wednesday. The non-conference contest is scheduled for 4:30 p.m.
